My earrings are made out of cork fabric with wood and metal accents.
Cork is made from the bark of cork-oak trees which grow mainly in Mediterranean regions. The bark is extracted and the tree renews itself, this makes cork a sustainable material.
The cork is backed by a thin layer of fabric. You can see the natural texture of the tree in the fabric which adds to its unique and stunning appearance. These deviations make it so no two earrings are alike.

Hi! My name is Leah Hayes.

I am a kindergarten teacher, cat lover, pansexual woman who loves to dance! I spend a lot of my free time gardening, snuggling my cats, and making earrings.
Cosmic Love Designs is my little side venture and it is located in Bath, Maine. I bought a Manual Leather Cutting Machine in April of 2021 and began playing around with vegan leather to make earrings.
It started as a therapeutic hobby that allowed me to be creative and to make something tangible that I could wear and share.
I purchased cork fabric scraps to play around with and that's when I really got hooked. I love that cork fabric is a sustainable product and that its unique texture shines through. There are so many beautiful colors and fun patterns to incorporate.
I decided to start my own little business so that I can share my creations with other humans. I'm looking forward to purchasing more funky die cuts and different cork fabric to use.
